Looking to ride the highs from her North American tour, Filipina tennis sensation Alex Eala is set to compete in the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) 125 stint in the Jingshan Open in China.

Eala etched her name to history after winning the first-ever WTA title for Philippine tennis in the WTA 125 Guadalajara Open.

The 20-year-old then picked up two more wins in the WTA 250 Sao Paulo, before bowing down to Indonesian Janice Tjen in the quarterfinals which snapped her seven-game winning streak.

The young star rose to 57th in the recently updated WTA rankings with 1,083 total ranking points.

The Jingshan Open will take place from September 22 to 28 with Eala predicted as the top seed. – VC
