Outgoing U.S President Joe Biden and President-elect Donald Trump vowed to the public a smooth and peaceful transition of power in January 2025.

This agenda was posed after Trump visited White House on Wednesday, November 13, for a two-hour discussion about his inauguration along with addressing key national security and domestic policy issues.

Political experts point out the meeting was a hopeful sign from both parties but it does not necessarily signal a new era of collaboration. Instead, it may serve as an indication that even in a polarized political environment, moments of goodwill can still emerge.

Despite the tension, many Americans remain hopeful that more moments of cooperation can be forged, especially in areas of infrastructure development, economic recovery and national security.

On the other hand, First Lady Jill Biden also congratulated Trump and offered a letter of greetings to his wife, Melania Trump, which further emphasized the efforts to foster a peaceful and respectful handover. – VC
