Lumagda sa isang memorandum of agreement (MOA) ang Commission on Higher Education (CHED) at Commission on Election (COMELEC) upang pagtulungan na matiyak ang “skilled and credible” na pamamahala ng modern electoral technologies sa 2025 National and Local Elections sa darating na Mayo 12.
Sa pamamagitan ng MOA, kukuha ng mga mag-aaral at tauhan mula sa higher education institutions (HEIs) na nag-aalok ng Information Technology Education (ITE) programs para magsilbing Manpower Technical Support Personnel and CCS Technicians na makakatuwang sa halalan.
Ayon kay CHED Secretary Popoy De Vera, kumpiyansa siya na malaki ang maiaambag ng mga indibidwal mula sa HEIs dahil sa kanilang sapat na kaalaman sa kasalukuyang teknolohiya upang makasabay sa pressure sa mismong eleksyon.
“I guarantee the skills and competence of the people from our HEIs across the country. We are continuously providing them with opportunities for upskilling and reskilling,” ani De Vera.
Tiwala rin si COMELEC Chair George Erwin Garcia sa partnership kasama ang CHED.
“COMELEC has no better partner in this undertaking other than the academic institutions, especially students and faculty of Information Technology programs. By partnering with CHED and our higher education institutions we ensure the credibility and integrity of the electoral process,” ani Garcia.
Tutukuyin ng CHED sa tulong ng mga regional office nito ang mga HEI na may ITE program kung saan ang mga kwapilikadong indibidwal ay nakatakdang dumaan sa mga kinakailangang training ng COMELEC upang mahasa sa proseso ng eleksyon pagdating sa technical duties.
