Itinalaga ni Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. ang dating presidente at chief executive officer (CEO) ng UnionDigital Bank na si Henry Rhoel Aguda bilang bagong kalihim ng Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT).
Pinalitan ni Aguda ang dating kalihim na si Ivan John Uy na nagbitiw sa pwesto ngayong buwan.
Dati nang nagserbisyo si Aguda bilang Digital Infrastructure Lead ng Private Sector Advisory Council (PSAC) na binuo ni Pangulong Marcos Jr. upang umalalay sa pagpapalakas ng private at public sectors sa bansa.
Bago pamunuan ang UnionDigital Bank, naupo rin ang bagong kalihim bilang board chairperson ng City Savings Bank at UBX Philippines.
“Aguda’s experience spans the banking, technology and telecommunications sectors. His specialty is in digital transformation, digital banking and financial crimes,” pahayag ng Presidential Communications Office (PCO).
Bukod dito, nagtrabaho rin si Aguda bilang director ng Insular Health Care, BancNet, Metaverse Ventures and Platforms at Philippine Clearing House Corp.; senior executive vice president ng Union Bank of the Philippines; at chief technology officer ng Amihan Global Strategies, Globe Telecom, Government Service Insurance System, at Digitel.
Natapos ni Aguda ang kanyang Juris Doctor at Bachelor of Science in Mathematics degree sa University of the Philippines bilang cum laude.
Kumuha rin ito ng Advanced Management Program sa Harvard Business School at Strategic Alliance Program sa Wharton School of the University sa Pennsylvania.
Kasalukuyang tinatapos ni Aguda ang kanyang master’s degree sa Applied Business Economics sa University of Asia and the Pacific. – AL
