Handa ang Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) na umalalay at maghatid ng tulong sa mga residenteng naapektuhan mula sa rido o alitan sa Tipo-Tipo, Basilan.
Inatasan na ni DSWD Secretary Rex Gatchalian ang Field Office 9 – Zamboanga Peninsula na manatiling alerto para sa pag-aayos at pamamahagi ng family food packs (FFPs) gayundin ng iba pang non-food items (NFIs) para sa mga apektadong pamilya.
“Tell the mayor of Tipo-Tipo and the governor of Basilan that the DSWD is ready to help them in case there are internally-displaced persons. Keep me updated,” saad ni Gatchalian.
Kasabay nito, tiniyak ng Peace and Development Group (PDG) ng DSWD na ligtas ang 14 social workers at project development officers nito sa Isabela, Basilan sa kabila ng nagpapatuloy na kaguluhan sa pagitan ng Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) at sundalo ng pamahalaan.
Sa ngayon, suspendido ang lahat ng pasok sa paaralan at government offices sa Tipo-Tipo. — VC
