Nilinaw ni Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. na walang kinalaman ang executive department sa impeachment complaint laban kay Vice President Sara Duterte.
“No, the executive cannot have a hand in the impeachment. Walang role ang executive sa impeachment,” saad ng Pangulo sa Palace press conference nitong Huwebes, Pebrero 6.
Ito ay tugon sa mga paratang na may gabay ng Pangulo ang pag-impeach ng House of Representatives sa Bise Presidente.
“I do not give guidance to Congress. Again, you give too much credit that I can tell congressmen to do this, and to do that. I cannot. I do not give guidance to Congress. We are independent of each other.” pagbibigay-diin ng Pangulo.
Naniniwala naman ang Pangulo na ang ginawa ng Kamara ay isang ‘constitutional mandate’ kung saan tungkulin ng mga mambabatas na i-proseso ang inihaing impeachment complaints.
“They will decide how they will proceed. I don’t think you can expect the congressman, or the senator, or the SP, or the Speaker to come to me, ‘Oh, what do you want us to do?’ They have their own way of doing things,” ani Marcos.
“The House has no choice, the Senate has no choice, kailangan nilang iproseso ang impeachment complaint. And that’s precisely what has happened,” dagdag niya.
Matatandaan nitong Miyerkules, Pebrero 5, nang aprubahan ng mababang kapulungan ang ika-apat na impeachment complaint laban kay Duterte matapos makakuha ng 215 pirma mula sa mga mambabatas. – VC
