Pinabulaanan ng Workers’ and Peasants’ Party (WPP) ang pagnonomina umano kay Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC) leader at Pastor Apollo Quiboloy bilang senatorial candidate para sa 2025 Midterm Elections.
Mismong si Atty. Sonny Matula, presidente ng WPP, ang nagpasinungaling dito at nagsabing wala sa kahit sinong lider ng partido ang nag-apruba ng kanyang nominasyon.
“I am not aware of who signed his CONA. Only three individuals are authorized to sign on behalf of WPP: the Chair, the President, and the Senior Vice President. As President, I can confirm that I did not sign any CONA for Quiboloy,” pahayag ni Matula sa kanyang post sa X.
Dahil dito, maaaring ideklara ng Commission on Elections (COMELEC) si Quiboloy bilang isang independent candidate ngunit daraan pa sa kanilang law department.
“Since COC is executed under oath, failure to declare the truth may subject the aspirant to perjury,” paliwanag ni COMELEC Spokesperson Rex Laudiangco.
Matatandaang naghain ng Certificate of Candidacy (COC) ang authorized representative ni Quiboloy nitong Martes, Oktubre 8, sa kabila ng mga kasong kinakaharap niya patungkol sa child abuse at human trafficking. — VC
