President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. on Tuesday led the inauguration of the country’s 23rd Bagong Pilipinas One-Stop Overseas Filipino Workers (OFW) Agarang Kalinga at Saklolo para sa mga OFW na Nangangailangan (AKSYON) Center in Makati City.
According to the President, the AKSYON Center symbolizes fast, orderly, and unified services for OFWs.
“Layunin nitong gawing mas madali ang kanilang proseso—mula sa reintegrasyon, ligal na tulong, hanggang sa pagsasanay at iba pang serbisyong kailangan nila,” the President said.
Located at the Land Bank of the Philippines (LBP) Building 1 in Makati City, the Bagong Pilipinas One-Stop OFW AKSYON Center was established to assist OFWs in the southern part of Metro Manila.
The facility provides support and assistance for various processes, including pre-departure, overseas employment, and reintegration upon the OFWs’ return.
Services include processing of pre-employment documentary requirements through the Social Security System (SSS) , PhilHealth, and Pag-IBIG Fund. The center will also facilitate the processing of Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) membership.
For returning migrant workers, the facility also offers reintegration services, including livelihood assistance, financial literacy programs, skills upgrading, retraining, retooling and employment facilitation by the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) and OWWA’s partners.
“Sa ating mga OFW na nagbabalik bansa, sa halip na maabala pa kayo sa mahabang pila at magulong proseso, bubungad na sa inyo ang maayos at mabilis na sistema upang makuha ninyo ang serbisyo, benepisyo, at programa ng ating pamahalaan,” President Marcos said.
The new center will also serve free snacks and refreshments at its Migrant’s Brew for OFWs who have transactions.
The building housing the Aksyon Center will serve as DMW Annex. Other offices of the department will be relocated there to accommodate the growing number of personnel based at the Blas F. Ople Building in Ortigas Avenue, Mandaluyong City
The President reiterated his commitment to ensure that government services will reach all Filipinos, including OFWs.
“Sa ilalim ng ating pamahalaan, sinisiguro natin na ang bawat Pilipino—lalo na ang ating mga manggagawa sa iba’t ibang bansa—ay mararamdaman ang malasakit at mabilis na serbisyo mula sa gobyerno” he said. – PND
