Presidential Communications Office (PCO) Acting Secretary Cesar B. Chavez on Monday recognized the achievements of government communicators for their campaigns in informing, reassuring and engaging Filipinos with truthful and fact-checked public information.
In a speech delivered on his behalf by Senior Undersecretary Emerald Anne Ridao during the Parangal: Gawad ng Kahusayan sa Komunikasyong Pampubliko, Chavez emphasized the critical role of creative communication in ensuring public trust in state information.
“We are commending the best communication campaigns of our various agencies, which inform, reassure, and engage the Filipino people. We are celebrating the feats of those who have fused new media with the time-honored principles of adherence to truth,” Chavez said.
“And we are showcasing the creative to disprove the perception that state information products are trite or boring when they can, in fact, be quite exciting. We are saluting the intrepid who bravely tread into the world of TikTok”, he added.
The PCO chief emphasized the individual awards and nominations as proof of best practices, collaboration, and ethos of continuous improvement worthy of replication by their colleagues.
Chavez congratulated all the nominees and winners for their unwavering commitment to make a difference through public information of their respective government programs.
“In recognizing these campaigns, we seek the best practices, foster collaboration, and inspire an ethos of continuous improvement. By rewarding these exemplary individuals, we are showing their colleagues a proof of concept that is replicable,” Chavez underscored.
“With that said, and on behalf of the Presidential Communications Office, I congratulate all nominees and winners for your unwavering commitment to keeping the public informed about your respective government programs. Your dedication truly makes a difference in our communities,” he added.
Parangal: Gawad ng Kahusayan sa Komunikasyong Pampubliko is PCO’s inaugural annual awards program in recognizing the outstanding communication campaigns and strategies by government agencies and local government units.
The program aims to serve as a platform to showcase the best practices in government communication, encouraging agencies to adopt innovative strategies that resonate with Filipinos. (PCO)
