Automotive vehicle sales in November 2024 rose by 8.5 percent year-on-year, reaching 40,898 units compared to 37,683 units in November 2023, according to the Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers, Inc. (CAMPI) and Truck Manufacturers Association.
The growth was driven primarily by commercial vehicle sales, which increased by 10.5 percent to 31,062 units from 28,114 units in the same period last year.
Passenger car sales also posted a modest 2.8 percent increase, totaling 9,836 units compared to 9,569 units in November 2023.
On a month-on-month basis, vehicle sales grew by 2.2 percent from 40,003 units recorded in October 2024.
CAMPI president Rommel Gutierrez noted that November’s performance boosted the total sales for the first 11 months of 2024 to 425,208 units, an 8.8 percent increase from 390,654 units sold in the same period in 2023.
Commercial vehicles accounted for 74 percent of total sales from January to November, while passenger cars made up 26 percent.
