Nagpaabot ng buong pasasalamat si Department of National Defense (DND) Secretary Gilberto Teodoro para sa tulong at suporta na ipinagkaloob ng Malaysian Government sa Pilipinas kasunod ng nagdaang Severe Tropical Storm Kristine.
Sa tulong ng Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF) gamit ang Eurocopter EC725 Caracal long-range transport helicopter, nakapagsagawa nang mabilis na humanitarian assistance para sa mga nasalantang pamilya sa iba’t ibang probinsya sa bansa lalo na sa Bicol region na higit na naapektuhan ng bagyo.
“I would like to extend my heartfelt gratitude to the Malaysian Government for their swift response to our request for assistance. Your support during this critical time has been invaluable in our recovery efforts following Severe Tropical Storm Kristine, and it exemplifies our strong partnership in times of need,” mensahe ni Defense Secretary Teodoro.
Binigyang-diin naman ni Office of Civil Defense (OCD) Administrator Ariel Nepomuceno na maliban sa tulong ng Malaysia ay mas pinaigting din nito ang samahan ng dalawang bansa.
“The contributions made by the Royal Malaysian Air Force have made a significant difference in our recovery efforts for the victims of STS Kristine in Bicol. Their prompt and effective support has not only provided essential aid but also strengthened our ties as we work together to overcome this tragedy,” saad ni Nepomuceno.
Bilang pasasalamat, nagsagawa ng send-off ceremony, sa pangunguna ng Philippine Air Force (PAF), para sa RMAF ngayong Sabado, Nobyembre 2.
Matatandaang dumating sa Pilipinas ang Eurocopter EC725 nitong Oktubre 26 kung saan nagsagawa ito ng relief mission hanggang ngayong araw. – IP
