Tawi-Tawi, Philippines – February 27, 2025 – The People’s Television Network (PTV) has officially launched PTV Tawi-Tawi, expanding government broadcasting to the country’s southernmost province, including geographically isolated and disadvantaged areas (GIDA).
Equipped with a 400-watt analog transmitter, PTV Tawi-Tawi now covers 80% of the province, reaching nine municipalities and ensuring that even remote communities have access to reliable, timely, and truthful information. This expansion aligns with PTV’s new mission of being the voice of the government for the people, providing credible and relevant news and public service content.
This initiative is made possible through a co-location partnership with PBS-BBS Tawi-Tawi, optimizing resources to strengthen government communication efforts in Mindanao.
As PTV Tawi-Tawi officially goes on air today, February 27, 2025, the network also reinforces its role in the national campaign against misinformation and disinformation, in coordination with other state media agencies. By ensuring that communities—especially those in remote and underserved areas—receive accurate, fact-based, and verified information, PTV continues to uphold its mandate of serving the Filipino people with integrity and transparency.
