Naging matagumpay ang re-supply mission na isinagawa ng Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR), katuwang ang BRP Datu Cabaylo (MMOV 3301) at BRP Datu Sanday (MMOV 2002), para sa mga mangingisda sa Bajo de Masinloc sa West Philippine Sea nitong Martes, Oktubre 8.

Sa kabila ito ng pagbuntot at pambobomba ng tubig ng tatlong Chinese Coast Guard (CCG) vessels at isang militia vessel laban sa hukbo ng Pilipinas.

“The CCG Vessels attempted to impede the mission of the BFAR vessels but were unsuccessful,” bahagi ng pahayag ng BFAR.

“They also opened and directed their water cannons, but this failed to reach the PH civilian boats,” dagdag ng ahensya.

Sa kabuuan, nasa pitong (7) Filipino mother boats at 16 maliliit na fishing boat ang nahatiran ng suplay ng dalawang MMOV.

Pinuri naman ng BFAR ang mga kawani ng ahensya na buong tapang na nanguna sa misyon sa kabila ng banta sa sariling kaligtasan.

Binigyan-diin ng kagawaran na walang makakapigil sa kanila sa pagsasagawa ng resupply mission at pagpapatrolya sa nasasakupan ng Pilipinas lalo na sa West Philippine Sea.

“The BFAR will not be deterred from fulfilling its mission of patrolling all Philippine maritime zones and providing support and assistance to Filipino fisherfolk in the West Philippine Sea pursuant to its mandate of enforcing all laws and rules and regulations in the management and conservation of fishery resources,” pagtitiyak ng BFAR sa publiko. — VC
