Thailand has made history as the first country in Southeast Asia to legalize same sex marriage wherein the bill garnered 130 votes in favor, four opposed and 18 abstentions in the Senate.
Although the bill still needs endorsement from King Maha Vajiralongkorn before implementing it, the said process is considered a formality and the law will take effect 120 days after it is published in the royal gazette. -AL
