Higit na palalakasin pa ng Pilipinas at New Zealand ang diplomatic relationship nito para sa mas komprehensibong samahan.
Sa sidelines ng 44th at 45th Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Summits and Related Summits sa Laos nitong nakaraang linggo, nagkaroon ng bilateral meeting sina Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. at NZ Prime Minister Christopher Luxon.
Nagkasundo sila na patatagin pa ang samahan ng dalawang bansa.
Ibinida ni Pangulong Marcos Jr. na isinasapinal na ng mga concerned government agency ang Proposed Roadmap to Comprehensive Partnership 2024-2025 sa pagitan ng Pilipinas at New Zealand.
“I think, the roadmap that’s being finalized now we should have it ready by the 60th anniversary of [the] establishment of diplomatic relations between our two countries,” saad ni Pangulong Marcos Jr. sa pagpupulong.
“I think we’ve made some good progress … and continued progress on the roadmap,” tugon ni Luxon.
Hulyo 6, 1966 nang mabuo ang diplomatic relations sa pagitan ng Pilipinas at New Zealand. -VC
