Marcos Jr. admin, target itaas ang credit rating ng Pilipinas kasunod ng pagkakatanggal sa FATF grey list – DOF

Kasunod ng pagkakaalis ng bansa sa grey listing ng Financial Action Task Force (FATF), target naman ngayon ng administrasyon ni Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. na i-angat pa ang credit rating ng Pilipinas.

Ang desisyon ng FATF ay itinuturing ni Department of Finance (DOF) Secretary Ralph Recto bilang ‘seal of good housekeeping’ dahil magpapatibay ito ng tiwala ng publiko sa sistemang pampinansyal ng bansa.

“This is a landmark achievement of the Marcos, Jr. administration. It’s a seal of good housekeeping that strengthens public confidence in our financial system. I thank all of those in the government who worked tirelessly to achieve this goal,” saad ni Recto.

Ayon sa kalihim, ang mataas na credit rating ay parehong magbebenepisyo sa mga overseas Filipino worker (OFW), negosyante, at maging sa mga ordinaryong Pilipino.

“This will directly benefit our remitting overseas Filipino workers, businesses, and the Filipino people. By upholding the highest standards of financial governance, we will attract more foreign direct investments and expand more trade partnerships that will help accelerate economic growth,” paliwanag ni Recto.

Matatandaan noong 2023, naging prayoridad ng pamahalaan ang FATF exit ng bansa kung saan naglabas si Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr. ng Executive Order No. 33 para pabilisin ang pagsunod ng Pilipinas sa global financial standards. – VC
