Malugod na tinanggap ni Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. ang P7-bilyong investment plan ng Mitsubishi Motors Corp.’s (MMC) sa Pilipinas sa susunod na limang taon na nakikitang lilikha ng mas maraming trabaho para sa mga Pilipino.
Sa courtesy call ni MMC President at CEO Takao Kato sa Malacañang nitong Huwebes, Pebrero 6, sinabi niya na kasama sa expansion plan ng korporasyon ang pagdaragdag ng bagong production model sa Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corp. (MMPC) plant facility sa Laguna.
“The jobs that it will provide, that your investment will provide, are very important to us and certainly, vehicle manufacture is one of those,” saad ni Pangulong Marcos Jr.
Binanggit din ng Pangulo na isasama ang MMC sa Revitalizing the Automotive Industry for Competitiveness Enhancement (RACE) Program ng gobyerno, na isang proposed version ng Comprehensive Automotive Resurgence Strategy (CARS) Program.
Bilang tugon, inihayag naman ni Kato na ang Pilipinas ang pinakamahalagang pamumuhunan ng MMC sa Southeast Asia na aniya’y may mabuti at matatag na ekonomiya.
“In the ASEAN, (the) Philippines is our number one market,” pagbibigay-diin ni Kato.
Ang MMC ay isang multinational automobile manufacturer na itinatag noong Abril 1970 na my production facilities sa Japan, Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam, China, Russia, at Pilipinas. – AL
