The National Housing Authority (NHA) announced that it is currently implementing a one-month moratorium on housing loan amortization and lease payments for November 2025, to ease the financial burden of its housing beneficiaries affected by the recent devastation of Typhoons Tino and Uwan.
The NHA, under the leadership of General Manager Joeben A. Tai, issued a guideline through Memorandum Circular No. 2025-172 and 2025-173, granting an automatic one-month payment moratorium for the agency’s residential account holders residing in Regions 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8, National Capital Region (NCR), Negros Island Region (NIR), the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR), the CARAGA (Region 13), and the province of Palawan.
“Bilang pagtalima sa direktiba ni Pangulong Ferdinand “Bongbong” R. Marcos, Jr. na magbigay ng tulong sa mga pamilyang apektado ng mga kalamidad na humagupit nitong buwan, partikular na po itong Bagyong Uwan, agaran po tayong nagpatupad ng isang buwang moratorium para sa ating mga benepisyaryo sa ilang rehiyon ng ating bansa,” GM Tai shared.
Based on the circular, the agency suspends all payments of amortization and lease falling due from November 1 to 31, 2025.
Furthermore, the NHA added that no delinquency or additional interest charges will be imposed during the month-long suspension.
The agency also noted that any payment made within the moratorium period will be applied according to the existing hierarchy of payments.
Collection of payments for both housing amortization, lease payments, with an addition of penalties and interest charges, will resume on December 1, 2025.
The moratorium emphasized the aim of the NHA to offer financial relief for families living in the agency’s resettlement and project sites to ease their burdens and to allow them to focus on rebuilding their homes and lives without the added worry of payment obligations.
This is the agency’s fourth and fifth moratorium activities within the year following the aftermath of the Southwest Monsoon (Habagat), Typhoons Crising, Dante, and Emong last July; of the Typhoons Mirasol, Nando, and Ompong in Masbate, as well as the magnitude 6.7 earthquake in Cebu, both last October; and of the magnitude 7.4 and 6.8 earthquakes in Manay, Davao Oriental.
Through this initiative, the NHA, an attached agency of the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development, reaffirms its commitment to providing support and assistance to its housing beneficiaries in times of greater need.
