Olympic gold medalist Tom Daley announced it was the “right time” to retire as Britain’s most successful diver stepped away from the spotlight after the Paris Games.
He rose to stardom as the face of British diving after making his Olympic debut in the 2008 Beijing Games at the age of 14. He won five Olympic golds throughout his entire career.
He retired after winning silver in the Olympic men’s synchronized 10m platform in France. He disclosed his intention to retire from the sport during an interview with a famous magazine.
