More than ₱1.2 million was raised for the Philippine General Hospital Medical Foundation, Inc. (PGHMFI) following the conclusion of the “Share-the-Love with Heart Mate” campaign, a consumer-led initiative that turned everyday grocery purchases into direct support for a government hospital.
The campaign, which ran from July 15 to October 15, 2025, generated a total of ₱1,227,450, exceeding its original ₱1 million target. The official turnover was held on November 27, 2025, at Robinsons Supermarket Ermita in partnership with Robinsons Supermarket.
Under the initiative, ₱5 was donated to PGHMFI for every Jolly Heart Mate Canola Oil product purchased during the campaign period. Funds are now being used to support PGH patients through medical assistance, including laboratory tests, supplies, and equipment that are not covered by regular hospital funding.
PGHMFI Chairman and President Dr. Telesforo E. Gana Jr. said the donation will directly benefit indigent patients and help address urgent medical needs. PGH Director Dr. Gap Legaspi added that the support will be instrumental in bridging critical gaps in patient care.
The campaign highlighted how cooperation between consumers, retailers, and private companies can translate into tangible support for public healthcare—demonstrating that small, everyday choices can collectively make a meaningful difference for those in need.(pcm)
