Muling nanindigan ang Bureau of Immigration (BI) na hindi dumaan ng Philippine immigration si dismissed mayor Bamban, Tarlac na si Alice Guo matapos mapag-alaman na wala umanong stamp ang passport nito nang umalis sa bansa.
Ayon kay BI Commissioner Norman Tansingco, agad ni-review ng BI ang Philippine passport ni Guo nang ipinresenta niya ito pagbalik ng bansa noong Setyembre 6.
“No Philippine stamps were found in both passports, showing that they left the country illegally without undergoing regular immigration inspection,” paliwanag ni Tansingco.
Nauna nang iniulat ng Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission (PAOCC) na wala silang makalap na ebidensya na magpapatunay na may tauhan ng BI na tumulong sa pagtakas ni Guo sa Pilipinas.
“Chances are there was no immigration personnel who accommodated or facilitated her getting out of the Philippines. But again, that was the testimony of Shiela. We’d have to listen to the testimony of Alice,” paliwanag ni PAOCC spokesman Dr. Winston Casio.
Kasabay nito ay nilinaw ni Tansingco ang kumakalat na larawan ng mga BI agent na kasama sa paghuli kay Guo.
“There is no inappropriate conduct, and no disrespect was intended. We take our work seriously and remain committed to upholding the highest standards of professionalism,” saad nito.
Matatandaan noong Setyembre 6 ay naibalik ng Pilipinas si Guo matapos mahuli ng awtoridad ng Indonesia sa Jakarta, 50 araw matapos makalabas ng bansa noong Hulyo 18. -VC
