Inatasan ng Malacañang ang Department of Health (DOH) na mahigpit na makipag-ugnayan sa mga partner healthcare facilities upang mapabilis ang pagproseso ng mga claim sa ilalim ng Medical Assistance to Indigent and Financially Incapacitated Patients (MAIFIP) program.
Ito ay kasunod ng pagpapalabas ng Department of Budget and Management (DBM) ng P27.4 bilyon para sa DOH bilang bahagi ng 2026 General Appropriations Act (GAA) para sa pagpapatuloy ng MAIFIP.
Ayon kay Executive Secretary Ralph Recto, mahalaga ang koordinasyon ng DOH at mga healthcare provider upang matiyak ang maayos na pagpapatupad ng programa.
“Let us continue coordinating with the regional directors, verify the accounts payable, and process the valid claims promptly. These funds are available to support our patients and our partner hospitals,” ani Recto.
Sa ilalim ng programa, sasagutin ng pondo ang mga valid claim sa mga serbisyong medikal, kabilang ang hospitalization, gamot, emergency treatment, professional fees, at iba pang kinakailangang gastusin.
Ayon kay Recto, makatutulong ang agarang pagproseso ng mga legitimate claims upang hindi maantala ang paghahatid ng serbisyo, partikular sa mga pasyenteng mula sa vulnerable at low-income communities.
“For President Marcos, every available resource must be used to deliver meaningful assistance to the Filipino people. Through MAIFIP, we are helping patients obtain the care they need while supporting hospitals that serve communities every day,” ani Recto.
Sa kabuuang pondo, P19.145 bilyon ang mapupunta sa DOH Centers for Health Development para sa pagbibigay ng medical assistance sa pamamagitan ng mga regional network at partner healthcare facilities sa buong bansa.
Samantala, P4.35 bilyon ang ilalaan sa mga DOH hospital sa Metro Manila at mga rehiyon.
Ang Lung Center of the Philippines, National Kidney and Transplant Institute, Philippine Children’s Medical Center, at Philippine Heart Center ay makakatanggap ng kabuuang P2.91 bilyon.
May P950 milyong pondo ang University of the Philippines – Philippine General Hospital (UP-PGH) habang P52 milyon naman ang ilalaan sa Drug Abuse Treatment and Rehabilitation Centers. – VC
