For many Filipino families, Mother’s Day is more than just a date on the calendar. It is a chance to pause, gather together, and celebrate the women who often hold families together through quiet sacrifices and everyday care.

This year, one destination in Parañaque City is turning that spirit of appreciation into a week-long celebration.

Beginning May 10, Duty Free Philippines’ FiestaMall will open its doors to shoppers looking for meaningful gifts and shared experiences for the mothers in their lives. Imported chocolates, beauty products, fashion items, travel essentials, premium wines, and other finds will be offered at discounts of up to 50 percent as part of the mall’s anniversary sale running until May 17.

But beyond the bargains, the celebration is also designed to create small moments families can enjoy together.

On Mother’s Day itself, mothers visiting FiestaMall will receive flowers and take part in special in-store activities prepared by FiestaMall and Luxe Duty Free. One lucky shopper will also get the chance to win an overnight stay at Mella Hotel in Las Piñas.

The Mother’s Day celebration also coincides with the 39th anniversary of Duty Free Philippines Corporation (DFPC), the Department of Tourism-attached agency behind FiestaMall.

According to DFPC leadership, occasions like Mother’s Day remain deeply connected to the Filipino tradition of gift-giving and family bonding.

“With our anniversary sale, we hope to make it easier for families to find thoughtful gifts while enjoying the value that Duty Free Philippines has always offered,” DFPC said.

As part of its anniversary initiatives, DFPC is also expanding partnerships with the hospitality sector to offer more experiences to balikbayan members and shoppers.

On May 20, DFPC is set to sign partnership agreements with Vivere Hotel and Robinsons Hotels and Resorts, which may soon allow balikbayan cardholders to enjoy up to 30 percent discounts on hotel stays.

The initiative reflects DFPC’s broader effort to go beyond traditional pasalubong shopping by offering Filipinos more ways to celebrate special occasions; whether through thoughtful gifts, shared family outings, or even weekend staycations.
