With the upcoming celebration of New Year’s Day, the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) calls on Filipino consumers to uphold responsible celebration and prioritize safety when purchasing fireworks.

DTI Secretary Cristina A. Roque emphasized the importance of buying only certified products to prevent accidents and ensure a prosperous celebration.

“As we usher in a New Year, it is crucial to remember that safety should always be our top priority. By purchasing certified fireworks, consumers can significantly reduce the risk of accidents and injuries, allowing everyone to enjoy the festivities with peace of mind,” Secretary Roque stated.

The DTI, through the Bureau of Philippine Standards, has released a comprehensive list of certified fireworks products on its website. This list serves as a valuable guide for consumers, enabling them to make informed decisions and choose fireworks that have undergone rigorous testing and meet the required safety standards.

“The DTI is committed to protecting consumers and ensuring a safe holiday season for all. We encourage everyone to check the official list of certified fireworks before making any purchase and support our efforts in promoting safety. Let us celebrate responsibly and prioritize the well-being of ourselves and our loved ones,” Secretary Roque urged.

To report any consumer violations, the DTI encourages the public to call Consumer Care Hotline at 1-DTI (1-384) or send an email to consumercare@dti.gov.ph and reporttosec@dti.gov.ph. (DTI)
